William Hill Has Three Ads Blocked By ASA

This story was published more than 10 years ago.

UK advertising enforcement group the Advertising Standards Authority has blocked three advertisements that bookmaker William Hill had published recently.

The three offending ads all claimed to offer the "Best Prices" on different products, even though other betting firms were offering better prices.

The ads that were blocked were:

  • A web ad that claimed that William Hill had the "Best Prices On The Best Horses. Bet Now!"

  • A second web ad that claimed the site had the "Euro 2012 Best Prices On The Best Teams."

  • A television ad focused on text betting which claimed Will Hill had the "Best Odds Guaranteed On All UK & Irish Horse Racing".

The web ads breached the BCAP Code Rules ,3.1 3.7, and 3.38, while the television ad violated Code Rules 3.1m, 3.9, and 3.38.

Earlier this year William Hill had to face the ASA for an offending internet ad that the Gala Coral complained about.
