A 35 year old punter from Norway won a massive 5.4million Kroner jackpot while playing "The Dark Knight" at online casino Unibet.
The Dark Knight is powered by Microgaming's QuickFire platform and is tied to Microgaming's Progressive Jackpot Network. The network ended up paying the punter with one payment, instead of the normal staggered payment system.
Commenting on his win, the new millionaire said: “I had no idea what was happening. At first, I thought I had won 5,000 Kroner, and I remember thinking ‘wow, that will be a nice Christmas present for my girlfriend’. But the amount kept increasing and surely enough it displayed 5 million Kroner. I couldn’t believe it, I was in shock. I rang the Unibet customer service department so that I could get confirmation of the win!”
Since its inception, Microgaming's Progressive Jackpot Network has paid out €320 million to jackpot winners.
