Bwin.party Leaves Dutch Gaming Market

This story was published more than 11 years ago.

Internet gaming giant bwin.party digital entertainment has reportedly exited the Dutch gaming market, complying with a director from the Kansspelautoriteit (Netherlands Gaming Authority), which requested all unlicensed operators to stop offering gaming services.

It is thought that because of the voluntary exit that firms such as bwin, Ladbrokes, and Unibet will be given a more favorable shot when gaming licenses open up.

The exit is the second recent one for bwin, which is being forced out of the Argentinian state of Misiones. Just last week the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos yanked bwin Argentina's license due to what is being called a "breach of contract".
