Bwin Executive Detained By Belgian Authorities

The Co-Chief Executive of online gambling giant Bwin has been detained by Beglian authorities to be questioned.

Norbert Teufelberger was detained while attending the European Betting and Gaming Association's annual "Responsible Gaming Day" in Brussels when he was taken into custody by authorities. Teufelberger is the Chairman of the EGBA.

A statement released by bwin regarding the matter said:

"In response to press reports this afternoon, the Group can confirm that Norbert Teufelberger, Co-CEO, was requested to attend an interview with the Belgium authorities. He complied voluntarily with this request and is co-operating fully with the authorities. We will issue further details in due course."
