Zynga And Bwin Form Online Gambling Partnership

Through its third quarter fiscal report social gaming giant Zynga revealed that it has partnered with Bwin.Party digital entertainment to form a real money online casino and poker destination, which is set to be operational by the first half of 2013.

The new casino will be licensed through Gibraltar, and the online poker network will be part of the Party Gaming Network It is reported that the casino will feature roughly 180 real money games, some using the branding of Zynga's most popular games such as "Farmville".

Speaking about the deal, Zynga Executive Vice President Barry Cottle said: "Partnering with an established leader like Bwin.Party is a strategic and prudent way for us to enter a key RMG (real money gambling) market while giving local players the real money games they've been asking us for."

A press release by Bwin.Party Co-CEOs Jim Ryan and Norbert Teufelberger stated: "Zynga is the world's leader in social games with hundreds of millions of active players worldwide and a significant player base in the UK. We are delighted to have been selected as their chosen partner for this important step in their evolution, and hope to expand our relationship into other products and markets."

Wow, this could be kind of a big deal.

I wonder how they will attempt to draw in the millions of legal aged people that play their games. Pretty interesting stuff.
