Big name UK wagering firm William Hill has announced that it will continue its sponsorship of the UK Snooker Championship for an additional two years after a successful initial year.

The tournament is now labeled the "WilliamHill.com UK Championship" and carries prize money of £625,000. The event is held from December 1-9 at the York Barbican.

Commenting on the sponsorship, World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn said: "William Hill recognizes that this sport is going places and they want to be involved, and we welcome them back with open arms to sponsor this outstanding tournament. They were clearly delighted with the amount of exposure they got for their brand from the event last year. The WilliamHill.com UK Championship is one of our biggest world ranking events and is watched by many millions of people worldwide."

William Hill's Chief Marketing Officer Kristof Fahy also spoke out, saying: "Snooker has a massive global reach and our sponsorship will enable us to reach over 100 million potential customers across the world."
