The news that the Republican Party's newest policy stances include an anti-internet gambling cause has caused Nevada politicians to speak out in protest to the announcement.
Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval told Las Vegas TV station KSNV that he was opposed to the policy and that it will not deter the Silver State from pursuing online poker, which is expected to go live in the state by the end of the year.
Nevada Gaming Control Board Mark Lipparelli echoed Sandoval's comments, saying that the state's lawmakers are uniformed, and that banning a multi-billion dollar industry such as online gambling is a bad strategy that ignores the reality of the industry.
