Internet wagering software developer Microgaming has announced that it has launched its newest slot this week with the retro arcade space themed "Max Damage".
Max Damage is a game that looks like an 80's arcade game that allows players to navigate through 9 levels and against 3 different boss ships. Players are given six different lives and bets placed and points being scored depending on how many aliens are destroyed.
The game's powerups include missiles, nukes, and wormholes, while boosters can give the player's ship more life, health, and shields. The game also allows for player high scores to be posted on the game's leader board.
Commenting on the release, Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever said: “Max Damage and the Alien Attack is a radical departure from the conventional slot format and we’re very excited about the potential for this new arcade-style game. At Microgaming we’re always looking for new ways to produce innovative content, so this move into a whole new style of game is particularly important to us.”
Max Damage will be the first in a line of arcade style games that Microgaming will be releasing as it tries to reach a niche that has been long overlooked in the online gambling community.
