The Microgaming Poker Network has seen a large jump in traffic over the past week, surging some 33% and opening debate among industry observers as to exactly what the cause is.

Internet online poker site PokerScout reported that: "Microgaming Network booked a massive 33% gain for the week. The reason for the sudden surge is unknown, but it was enough to vault Microgaming back into the top 10 after an eight-week absence."

Most observers seem to think that the surge is due to the new software that Microgaming introduced in August as being the source for all of the traffic.

PokerScout also reported that industry wide, poker sites saw a traffic rise of 0.8%. For the past three weeks traffic has had a 6.5% jump in traffic.
