Poker operators using the IGT Poker Network have been told that the gambling giant's management is radically pulling back on its internet poker business due to weak business results.
The news comes as reports from Sweden emerged claiming that the company shuttered its offices in Stockholm and terminated employee contracts. Rumors are swirling that IGT may shut down the network by the end of the year.
Currently no public statement as been issued by IGT, which bought the Entraction poker network last year for a staggering $108.2 million. Some of the firm's online poker operators include BetVictor, Kick Off Poker, Devilfish Poker, 24h Poker, Redbet, Betsson and No IQ.
Recently IGT acquired a gaming license in Nevada to provide online poker services, although now it seems that Entraction will not have any part in those plans.
