Iceland ISPs May Block Online Gambling Sites

A report by Iceland's national broadcaster claims that the country's two largest internet service providers are considering blocking access to websites that provide questionable content including online gambling sites.

Speaking to RUV, Vodafone Spokesman Hrannar Pétursson said: "that the block, if enforced, would not be censorship, but rather a way to protect customers from viruses and malware that frequently run rampant on porn and gambling sites."

The block would still allow users to access the blocked websites, although they would have to personally request access.
