The island gambling mecca Macau grew at its slowest rate in three years, but still beat industry analysts who predicted flat or negative growth.

The world's largest gambling destination grew by 1.5% in July as revenues were reported at 24.58 billion patacas, up from 23.3 billion patacas during the same period last year.

Analysts say that the slow growth rate is attributable to less visitors to the island gambling destination due to the tightening of economic conditions in China.
