This story was published more than 11 years ago.

Internet wagering firm Unibet has been awarded an online gambling license through the Belgian Gaming Commission, allowing the firm to offer sports betting services to Belgium through the internet.

The BGC also announced that it had awarded licenses to Blitz NV and Pavaber SA, which will respectively offer betting services through Blitz.be and MirageGames.be.

In addition to the license awards, the gaming commission announced that five more betting firms have been added to the European country's blacklist, restricting access to Belgian gamblers through the internet. Those newly banned include: Bet365, SJ Bet.at, MaaslandGames.be, 7Red.com, and 2bwin.com.
