Starting today German citizens who are playing at online poker site PokerStars will be doing so through the company's .eu web domain.
The move by PokerStars to migrate German players to the new domain is likely a way for the company to protect itself from changes to Germany's online gambling laws.
Players will notice a few minimal changes during the migration, as they will keep their current account names. The biggest change is the requirement of downloading a new mobile version of the software if they are playing through a mobile device. Access to games, VIP status, monthly and yearly VPP's and other bonuses will not be impacted by the move.
