High speed internet poker is coming to Italy after the European country's gaming regulator published guidelines regarding the game.

The passage of the guidelines was first reported by internet blog The Gaming Lawyer, who said that Italian players will be able to join a player pool of 5,000 while each high speed poker table will be able to accommodate 10 players maximum. Players will be able to put up a €1,000 per session stake and will have to reload funds once the limit is reached. Session times will also be limited to 72 hours, and gaming operators must submit an application if they wish to offer speed poker.

High speed poker has proven to be extremely popular with online poker fans, quickly rising to the list of most popular forms of online poker gaming. The game works by allowing players who fold a hand to be instantly transported to another table to get back into the action as quickly as possible.
