Thai newspaper The Pattaya Daily News is reporting that a sportsbetting call center for online sportsbook SBObet was raided by police on June 14th and subsequently shut down.
Lt. Colonel Sutin Suandokmai told the newspaper that the raid was conducted in the upscale community of Butsarakam Village, which falls just outside of Bangkok.
Three women and a man were arrested in the call center and evidence such as computers and communications equipment were also taken.
One of the detained women later confessed that she rented the house with the goal of using it as a call center for the sportsbetting operation. She admitted that she was given $155,000 to get the call center up and running in time for the Euro 2012 football tournament.
