Paddy Power Uses Queen For Euro 2012 Marketing Gimmick

Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has taken up an amusing marketing tactic that involves the Queen Elizabeth offering opinions on football and other topics.

Paddy Power has released an app that allows for punters to hold their phone over a £10 note that generates an animated queen that then shares her betting opinions through the Paddy Power Mobile app.

The opinions will be updated throughout the Euro 2012 football tournament and is an amusing, albeit quirky marketing campaign for Paddy Power.

Commenting on the release, a spokesman for Paddy Power said: "I’m sure the Queen like everyone else has views on football, but as we’re unlikely to hear them we thought we’d use a bit of creative license. It might put us at risk of getting thrown in the Tower of London but as we know she likes a flutter, we’re sure Her Majesty will see the funny side."
