Any hopes that online gambling legislation in Illinois being passed in the near future have gone by the wayside, as State Senator John Cullerton removed his internet gambling legislation from the state agenda.
Cullerton said that he remove the provisions that would have legalized and regulated internet gambling in the Mid-Western state, saying that there is not enough support in the state legislature for internet gambling. Governor Pat Quinn has also been seen as likely to veto any internet gambling bill that comes through to his desk.
Currently there are no known plans to re-introduce the measure in the state.
