Canadian newspaper the Vancouver Sun is reporting that the British Columbia Lottery Corporation is considering the possibility of offerings its PlayNow gambling backbone as a White Label to third parties.
The report states that the BCLC is currently negotiating a deal with the Manitoba Lotteries that would see it providing its gambling backbone to the Central Canadian province.
If the deal is finalized, the BCLC would become a betting system vendor as well as an operator of its own website. The company's goal is to develop additional revenue streams in addition to its base opportunities.
BCLC President and CEO Michael Graydon commented on the negotiations with Manitoba, saying: "We have expertise that would be valuable to other regulated gambling jurisdictions. Launching online gaming is a major capital investment, not to mention the level of expertise that it takes to operate and manage the customer base."
