Online betting exchange Betfair has announced that it has signed a two year sponsorship deal with German football club Bayer 04 Leverkusen, a club that competes in Germany's Bundesliga.
As part of the deal Betfair will get advertising on pitchside boards, and a heavy branding presence inside Bay Arena. The deal also contains an option for the two sides to extend the sponsorship deal for a third year.
Commenting on the deal, Betfair's Head of Central Europe Dr. Peter Reinhardt said: "Following on from our involvement with Barcelona and Manchester United, it's a special move for us at Betfair to enter and position ourselves in the Bundesliga."
Bayer Leverkusen Managing Director Wolfgang Holzhäuser also commented, saying: "The betting exchange is absolutely unique in the gambling sector in the same way we are the only Werkself in the Bundesliga."
