Online poker giant Pokerstars has cancelled the PokerStars Macau Poker Cup: Red Dragon Series tournament for an undisclosed reason.

Speaking to players and media about the cancellation, PokerStars Director of Live Poker Tournaments Danny McDonagh said that the plug was pulled because of “events beyond our reasonable control.”

While the tournament is out, the June event scheduled for this weekend will go on as scheduled.

As for the company's other Macau tournaments? "We cannot yet confirm the scheduling of PokerStars Macau special events for the rest of 2012, but hope to do so as soon as possible." McDonagh said.

"I assure all our loyal players and partners that PokerStars Macau is still deeply committed to creating the best poker experience in the world and my team is focused on showing that commitment this upcoming week at the Macau Poker Cup." he concluded.
