Thieves Again Try To Rob Bellagio

This story was published more than 11 years ago.

Police in the gambling mecca of Las Vegas are reporting that last week two men tried to rob the Bellagio Casino with a crude snatch and grab operation.

Michael Belton, 24, and his partner in crime "Carlos" went into the Bellagio during the World Poker Tour Championship last week armed with pepper spray and wearing sunglasses and black wigs. The two then attempted to steal $115,000 in chips from the high stakes table before running off.

Belton was tackled by a casino employee while Carlos was able to run out of the casino. Belton faces three felony counts of robbery, burglary, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Police are still searching for Carlos.

Danny Ocean they are not.

They should have stuck to trying to nab Slurpees or something. It would have had a lot more value than those RFID chips which are deactivated as soon as the casino IDs them as stolen.
