Space Invaders Slot Being Developed

A classic video game is being adapted into an online video slot as FreeMantleMedia Enterprises has contracted Square Enix Ltd to design a game based on the arcade hit "Space Invaders".

Space Invaders was originally released back in 1978 and proved to be immensely popular, sucking money from players one quarter at a time.

EMEA Head of Gambling Simon Murphy said: “The deal with Square Enix further demonstrates our goal to become one of the leading developers and distributors of premium branded gaming content. We are thrilled to be introducing the iconic and globally recognised Space Invaders into the gambling space for the first time.”

The slot will be made available on the OpenBet and GTS platforms later this year.
