A poker player from Montreal won a one million dollar buy in for the World Series of Poker Big One for One Drop after winning the Grand Tournoi de Poker Loto-Quebec satellite tournament.
Carlos Nahas won the tournament thanks to a friend that won the buy in on a slot machine promotion. Seeing as how his friend does not play poker, Nahas was the prime choice to take the spot.
Nahas will now play for millions of dollars when the Big One for One Drop tournament takes place as part of the World Series of Poker in July. The tournament is the most expensive in the world, with a one million dollar buy in. A large portion of each buy in will go to help solve water crises in various third world countries. Currently 30 players have signed up for the tournament.
