Has The Irish Gambling Tax Been Postponed?

This story was published more than 11 years ago.

Several different publications in Ireland are claiming that the government has postponed an extension of Irish gambling taxation that would affect online operators until at least 2014.

Online industry site Intergame has quoted Paul Kehoe, an Irish Minister as saying that lawmakers are trying to deal with the country's economy and issues with the Euro, and that less important legislation is being pushed off.

Reportedly the government will now put its proposal in next year, with the tax taking effect in 2014.
