Online betting exchange Betfair is set to launch its new fixed odds betting site that will move it into a more competitive market with other bookmakers a report in the Telegraph newspaper claimed on Sunday.
The new site is set to launch in time for the Euro 2012 Football Championship next month and will serve punters that have normally gone to SkyBet, William Hill, or Paddy Power to get fixed odds betting.
Currently Betfair has 4 million customers and the company believes its will be able to get up to 30% of the bets that are being taken elsewhere with its new service.
Commenting on his company's new service, Betfair Sports Operations Director Nick Hagen said: “We know from our own research that we lose 30% of our customers’ sports betting wallet to the competition. Why should customers have to go elsewhere and why would we willingly let this large chunk of business walk out the door?”
