32Red Wins Domain Battle

Internet gambling giant 32Red has won an internet domain dispute, getting the California based company Baysound LLC to give up the internet domain 32x.com.

The battle took place through the World Intellectual Property Organization, with whom 32Red filed a complaint after Baysound bought the domain in 2006 and planned to use it to support an internet casino related business.

32Red had complained that Baysound was using the website to include links to its competitors such as Party Poker and 888.

In its decision the panel said: “The Panel is satisfied that the complainant has clearly established registered rights in the trade marks 32RED and 32."

“The Panel also concludes that the actual use of the Domain Name was in bad faith as the website has links to the competitors of the complainant.”

Last year 32Red also won in court over getting the domains 32Vegas and 32V stripped from gambling firm William Hill plc over similar complaints.
