Utah Governor Urges Federal Lawmakers To Oppose Internet Gambling

This story was published more than 11 years ago.

Utah Governor Gary Herbert has written a letter to two federal leaders, urging them to oppose federal internet gambling legislation.

Herbert wrote a letter addressed to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) stating that gambling laws should be left to individual states, not the federal government.

Currently only Ohio and Hawaii ban all forms of gambling including lotteries and pari-mutuel betting.
