A report in the Alsart newsletter states that Russia may review the country's current gambling restrictions.
Several years ago Russian President Vladimir Putin outlawed gambling in all of Russia's major cities, placing it in remote areas of the country. The negative effects began almost immediately, with a rise in corruption and illegal betting activity occurring throughout Russia.
The report states that politicians are meeting in the Duma to discuss regulating land gambling in large cities, albeit with severe restrictions. The report by Alsart states that new gambling zones could include: Moscow, Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, and Sochi.
