Online poker site Nordica Poker has announced that it is ceasing operations after six years in business, giving players barely a week's notice that it was closing.
The Merge Poker skin has recently stopped responding to emails or any communication through Facebook or Twitter, causing players to believe that something was amiss.
Punters on the site have been advised that they need to clear their accounts before May 1st, but the site's terms and conditions may make this a problem for players with low balances. It is currently unknown whether or not Merge will transfer small balances to other skins.
Some affiliate marketers have suggested that Nordica was the second largest poker skin for Merge and that its closure will adversely affect Merge. Nordica was licensed in Malta and through the Kahnawake Gaming Commission.
