Online wagering software developer Microgaming has announced that it has launched its first batch of HTML5 wagering games, which feature photo realistic graphics and swipe and tap interfacing.
The games released include some of Microgaming's most popular titles, including "Tomb Raider", "Mermaids Millions", "Thunderstruck", blackjack, roulette, and video poker.
The usage of HTML5 for the games will allow players to access the games through their mobile devices, such as the iPhone and iPad. HTML5 is seen as an alternative to the Flash format, which can heavily tax a computer's resources and affect a desktop's performance.
Commenting on the launch of the games, Microgaming Head of Product Channels Neill Whyte said: “Microgaming launched its first mobile casino software in 2004 and ever since then, has been leading innovation in mobile gaming. It offers industry firsts in mobile gaming solutions, custom-made to enable any enterprise from the online industry, mobile space or land-based arena, to enter the world of mobile casinos with ease."
“We have been at the forefront of mobile technology and continue to stay ahead of the game."
