Online betting exchange Betfair has announced that it has extended its current sponsorship agreement with the British Amateur Boxing Association which will see Betfair being named the BABA's Official Gaming Partner.
Betfair's sponsorship agreement includes both the men's and women's GB Boxing teams. The agreement will have the boxers appearing at promotional events to inform the world of the Betfair sponsorship.
Originally Betfair had signed an agreement with the BABA last year during the GB Amateur Boxing Champsionships in London. Five current members of the BABA have qualified for the 2012 London Olympics, with six members ranked in the top five in the world for their weight class.
Commenting on the deal, BABA Executive Chairman Derek Mapp said: "Betfair's decision to extend its relationship with GB Boxing is a sign of its confidence in both the GB Boxing team and the health of the amateur sport in this country where it is delivering success at both the grassroots and the elite level."
