UK Gambling Commission Will Stay Within DCMS

The United Kingdom's Department for Culture, Media and Sport has denied that it will shift responsibility of the UK Gambling Commission to another ministry after the Olympics this summer.

Rumors had been circulating that the spreading interests of the Gambling Commission have led to reports that relations between the DCMS and Commission have been strained.

There has been speculation that due to the straining of relations, the Gambling Commission may be moved to the Home Office or Treasury, due to the recent announcement of new tax implications for offshore gambling companies.
