An email by PPA Membership Director Bryan Spadaro has told members that the PPA believes that an initiative by Reid-Kyl could still get online poker legislation through Congress before the end of this year.
Players hoping to see online poker legislation this year recently grew pessimistic, as little action has been taken by either Senator, however this email by the Poker Players Alliance may reignite hopes of Americans.
“If these two well-regarded, highly-influential Senators can reach an agreement, the chances of the bill’s success are greatly enhanced, even during a highly-charged presidential campaign." Spadaro wrote in the email.
Frank Fahrenkopf, the Chief Executive of the American Gaming Association told the Poker News that he also believes something is in the works at the congressional level.
“I know that Senator Reid and others are working very hard on a piece of legislation which would allow online poker with states’ rights being respected … I haven’t given up hope that something may yet be accomplished in the regular session.” Fahrenkopf said.
