Poker pro Daniel Negreanu had his account at PokerStars hacked this week, seeing his account shrink by more than $100,000 due to bad bets.
The account was compromised by a crafty hacker, who then went on to play several hands at the $100/200 NL poker tables. Many of the moves made by the hacker did not reflect the skill of the Canadian poker pro.
Speaking about his hacked account on poker board twoplustwo, Negreanu said:
"I was on an airplane home while this guy was joyriding my Stars account. He hacked my email and I got that back; still figuring out what happened. When I have all the details I'll share when it makes sense to."
PokerStars has stepped up to the plate in dealing with the fraudulent activity, offering to fund the account back to where it stood before it was hacked.

Wow. I was wondering the whole time, while reading, if they would give his money back. He's got quite a bankroll there.
wow PokerStars was considered actually a secure poker room but it seems now that things are changing....
If your email account is hacked then you're a goner. There doesn't even have to be a security problem at Pokerstars and there probably wasn't judging by this story. All the hacker has do after they can access your email is go to whatever site you are a member of, hit the "lost password" link, and then reset the password to whatever they want using the email the site sends you. So make sure your email password is strong!
