Betfair Signs Boxing Deal

Online betting exchange Betfair has signed an agreement that will see it become the title sponsor of the Matchroom Sport Prizefighter series.

As part of the deal, Betfair will have exclusive branding and marketing rights, allowing Betfair to feature exclusive interviews and fight analysis on its website. The sponsorship will begin on February 11th at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton. The event is scheduled to be aired on Sky Sports 1, HD1, as well as in 3D.

Commenting on the deal, Betfair Head of UK Brand Marketing Andy Lulham said “We’re thrilled to enter into partnership with Prizefighter, a format which has breathed new life into boxing. The competition continues to grow in popularity and stature among our customer base.”

Matchroom Sport's Managing Director Eddie Hearn also commented, saying “I'm delighted to welcome the world's leading betting exchange as title sponsorship of the innovative Prizefighter Series. The event has attracted a new audience for boxing and our growing list of international broadcasters confirms the huge growth of this concept. The event always attracts high volumes of activity within the betting markets and I’m sure punters will get great value with Betfair.”
