A woman from the UK has been given a 13 month sentence after she stole money from two different employers in order to support her online gambling addiction.

The defendant, Michelle Oliver (44) of Wall Heath was found guilty of stealing £74,000 from two different employers within an 18 month period. Her crimes were discovered after tax authorities in Britain questioned a PAYE payment of £16,000.

Oliver admitted to her crimes, saying she "frittered" the cash away and was "staggered" when told just how much she had lost while gambling online. Oliver lived a frugal lifestyle, owning no assets and spent all of her winnings on continuing to gamble.
