In an interview with Reuters earlier this week, Playtech CEO Mor Weizer said his company is looking to potential US partners as it seeks to enter the market.
Weizer said that his company has both approached and been approached by potential clients in the United States.
"There is a lot of work being done behind the scenes in various states by various local authorities. We have people on the ground now in the U.S. working with us in order to monitor all these processes." Weizer said in the interview.
The United States is facing the very real possibility of seeing the online gambling market open up this year following a recent legal opinion published by the country's Department of Justice in which it states that The Wire Act only applies to online sports betting. This act was previously cited as a chief reason that online gambling was illegal.
