Spanish sports betting site 21kbet has was hit by the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority when it was caught using the regulating committee's logo, to which it was not authorized to use.

The MLGA announced in a statement that: "The Lotteries and Gaming Authority (the ‘Authority’) would like to inform the public that the website www.21kbet.com has no connection whatsoever with the Authority and therefore any reference to the Authority and, or license issued by the Authority on the mentioned website is false and misleading. The Authority advises the public to play responsibly with operators licensed by jurisdictions that have sound remote gaming regulations."

21kbet is an English and Spanish sportsbook that is providing little information on its background but claims to have been in operation since 1998.

This is not the first time that an offending operator has been caught violating Malta's logo. Late last year Lock Poker was caught by the MLGA for utilizing the regulator's logo.
