Intralot Gets South African Gaming License

Intralot South Africa has been awarded a fixed odds betting license by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.

Intralot South Africa is a subsidiary of Intralot, which operates internationally. Under the license, the company will be using the brand Justbet to deliver services in betting facilities in the Western Cape of South Africa as well as providing services through the internet, telephone and mobile devices countrywide.

Justbet is set to take wagers primarily on soccer, rugby, cricket and golf. The brand will also offer horse betting in the near future.

Intralot's new market encompasses 5.4 million people, with its capital city of Cape Town having a population of 3.5 million. The Western Cape province is South Africa's fastest growing area, and accounts for 14.5% of the country's GDP; 25% higher than the average.
