Unlicensed Greek Gambling Worth 7 Billion Annually

Members of the Greek Parliament were informed that unlicensed gambling in Greece brings in an estimated €7 billion annually.

Evgenios Giannakopoulos, President of the Committee of Surveillance and Control of Gaming testified before parliament about the hardships of tracking down illegal gambling. The end result Giannakopoulos claims, is that several millions of Euros are lost that could otherwise be put into Greece's coffers.

Giannakopoulos said that his committee may begin getting positive results in cracking down on gambling within six months time.
