Betfair To Sponsor Horse Racing Event

Online gambling company Betfair has announced that it has signed an agreement that will see it become the title sponsor of Newbury's National Hunt race in February.

The horse race will take place on February 11th and will be known as the Betfair Hurdle. The deal is reportedly for three years.

Additionally, Betfair announced that it will be sponsoring RTÉ's horse racing coverage throughout the 2012 season.

Betfair Spokesman Barry Orr said “Betfair is delighted to join forces with RTÉ Sport in sponsoring their cross media racing coverage. As long time supporters of Irish racing, it is important for us that this key investment will also help secure the ongoing coverage of the sport across RTÉ.”

RTÉ Sport Cross Media Manager also commented, saying “Irish racing remains on terrestrial free-to-air television and Betfair has secured a powerful association with Irish racing across all of RTÉ’s market-leading platforms."
