According to various reports, Hollywood actor Tobey Macguire has agreed to settle a poker lawsuit that was filed against him and other players by an investor who is currently in prison.
Court documents show that Macguire has agreed to pay $80,000 of the $300,000 in winnings the Spiderman actor took in to settle the dispute. Macguire also notes that he lost $170,000 to Brad Ruderman, who is currently in prison for operating a ponzi scheme.
The lawsuit stems from underground Texas Hold'em games that Ruderman held in California. Some of the persons listed to have participated include: Nick Cassavetes, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Gabe Kaplan. So far, fourteen of the twenty two defendants in the suit for an estimated $1.2 million.
