PokerStars Gets German Soccer Sponsorship

Online poker giant PokerStars has signed an agreement that will see the company's name on Stadion an der Lohmühle, Lübeck which is home to VfB Lübeck.

The stadium sits 18,000 and will see the stadium officially branded "PokerStars.de – Stadion an der Lohmühle". The deal comes within the German state of Schleswig Holstein, which legalized online poker in September.

The deal officially runs until 2013 and there is an option for a three year extension. The deal will cost PokerStars €120,000 per season. A PokerStars spokesman said that the online poker friendly state will likely see more sponsorships. “We will consider further sponsorship opportunities in Schleswig-Holstein," the spokesman said.
