William Hill Fires Seven Workers

A report by Yahoo! Finance, William Hill has fired seven senior managers in addition to several junior staff after it was discovered they were plotting to set up a competing business.

Ralph Topping, William Hill's group executive reportedly became aware something was going on when the Tel Aviv branch denied computer system access to its parent company. Topping also hired former intelligence officers to investigate. He said, "I'm absolutely furious but cannot comment further."

William Hill has seen massive disorder at the Tel Aviv office in the past week as almost all of the 180 workers walked out amid reports that their jobs were going to be transferred to Malta.

Currently, William Hill is placing COO Jim Mullen, and William Hill Online Chief Executive Henry Birch in Tel Aviv to ensure smooth operations.
