The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has censored William Hill over a promotional offer that was posted on its website earlier this year.
The offending offer stated "£150 Bonus For all new casino players" with the small print saying "* Requires a GP35 minimum deposit, terms and conditions apply". These terms were believed by the ASA to persuade players that if they registered with William Hill and made a deposit of £35 that they would get £150 to wager with.
Actual terms for the deal were that the online casino would match any deposit between £35 and £150, meaning a player's deposit amount would be matched. The ASA said that the promo could not appear again in its current form and said that the terms should have been linked to the headline of the offer.
