Spanish Gets Online Gambling Getting Closer

This story was published more than 13 years ago.

A list of companies that are accredited to provide certification to online casino operators was released by the Spanish National Gambling Commission.

Companies that are interested in applying for online gaming licenses in Span will be able to apply starting on November 14th. They must then go through Internal Control System testing, which will make sure that data is transmitted accurately to the National Gambling Commission. After this testing, additional information and gaming system certifications will then be done before a gaming license is issued.

Last week a Ministerial Order put forth the technical requirements for the provision of online gaming licenses was passed through Parliament.

So far, NMI Metrology & Gaming Limited and Spain 2 TestLabs BMM, S.L.U. were named as companies that are authorized to assess and award software certifications to gaming license applicants. NMI also holds the ability to approve information systems.
