An online poker turned $1.71 into $26,111 by winning the $100,000 PKR Masters Tournament on UK poker site PKR.
The gambler, who goes by the online moniker "Vizdy"entered the tournament by paying $1.81. Vizdy, who hails from Gateshead, beat 422 other players to take home $26,111.
Dan Grant, PKR Community Manager said, “It’s absolutely fantastic when we see somebody just come from nowhere to put their name up in lights. There wouldn’t have been many fancying Vizdy going into the final table but he showed what he was all about and beat off some big names. I’d be pretty sure that was the best $1.81 he has ever spent.”
Vizdy won the tournament by taking the final table in 2 hours, 23 minutes. The final table also featured Kusken777, a former Masters Champion who won $27,375 three months prior. Vizdy beat out a player by the name sweplatte, who won the High Roller title the night before and took a chip lead to the final table. Sweplatte took home $15,666 for finishing second.
