Denmark Taking Online Gambling License Applications

The Danish Gaming Authority has posted a statement on its website, saying that online operators who wish to apply for an online gambling license only have four weeks to submit an application.

Online operators will be able to launch their casinos in Denmark starting January 1, 2012, but need to have their applications in by October 17, 2011. The licenses are considered to be a temporary operating permit while the gaming authority audits each company to ensure compliance with Danish regulations. The term of the temporary licenses is for one year.

If a company is able to pass the gaming authority's audit, it will then be given the option to convert its temporary license to a five year license with no additional fees being charged for the upgrade.
