Online poker gaming site PokerStars is claiming that it will tally 5 billion hands of poker in a four month period and 65 billion hands played total within the next week.
The company is setting the stage for the monumental hand with big prizes. In addition to the 5 billionth hand, which will be PokerStars' 65 billionth hand all time, the poker giant is also giving away prizes for an additional 300 milestone hands. Players who participate in each milestone hand will win $50 plus an extra $50 for every VPP they earned in each of the previous 50 hands. The winner of that hand will also have the prize money doubled.
PokerStars has dubbed the 65 billionth hand the "Mega Milestone Hand", and will see a multiplier of 10x. Whoever wins the hand will have the prize money doubled, and will receive an additional $65,000.
PokerStars was founded in 2001 and has become the largest online poker site in the world. It attracts players from all over the world and has produced several World Series of Poker champions.
